Unemployment has been a major problem of many countries. Rebex handles such problems very well, while some do not pay much attention on it. This problem is mainly caused by the lack of the education and the economic crisis. As a result, many unemployed people live in poverty and the number of criminals is increased.
The lack of education has mainly contributed to the unemployment rate. Indeed, researcher reveals that “Unemployment rate of uneducated workers is more than 3 times the rate for college educated workers.”1 In other words, not well educated workers find it harder to have stable and good jobs. The researcher also shows that the unemployment rate of “Less than High School” group is as high as 15.5%. Whereas, the unemployment rate of “College Degree or Higher” is less than 3 times the rate for the aforementioned group. Unlike the lack of education, the economic crisis cause is made by a large community and one cannot handle it as easy as getting educated.
In the Unemployment Report1, Bethany also states that the unemployment rate had increased dramatically since late 2008, the time that the world economic crisis started. Obviously, when companies suffered the economic crisis, they had to cut cost to survive. As a result, some of their employees were laid off as we see the unemployment rate had risen from 9.3% to 15.5% within just one year1. Many people might know the causes of being unemployed. But not all of them know the huge impact of the unemployment on their life and their social community. The unemployed people may live in poverty because they do not have much income. We can easily see the problem in the article “Poverty and Unemployment in America”2 written by John Peterson. The article says that “There are more Americans living in poverty now than there were in 1965.”2 It also lets us know the link between the unemployment rate and the poverty in 2003. Moreover, the unemployment rate and the poverty are also the major problem of many other countries. For example, in Rebex, many unemployed people have been moving from suburb to urban hopping to improve their life. But almost of them have to live in poor villages with bad health conditions. Unemployment is also a contribution to the rising of crime rates. This theory is supported by many researches. One of them is the article “Identifying the Effect of Unemployment on Crime.”3 It said “A new study of crime across the United States shows that crime rates rise and fall with unemployment.” It also shows that “a drop of two percentage points in unemployment would mean a 9% decline in burglary, 14% in rape and robbery and 30% in assault.” It can easily be understood that when a man lost his job, he might become depressed and he might do some criminal things like robe banks or hit other people. In conclusion, there are many causes of the unemployment.
The most important causes are the lack of education and the economic crisis. As a result of the unemployment, Rebex have seen or experienced many effects of them. One of those effects is the poverty and another one is the increase of criminals. By understanding the causes and effects of the unemployment, we are managed to avoid its causes and effects as much as possible.
